How it works

How your Turkey eVisa actually gets approved.

Two paths, three speeds, one approval email. The same flow our 14,000+ travelers have used since 2022. No abstractions.

  • 5 minutes to apply
  • 24-hour Express approval
  • USD 120 all-inclusive

Two paths in parallel

Your journey depends on your passport.

Tier 1 Direct nationalities apply in 3 steps. Tier 2 Conditional adds one step, uploading the qualifying foreign visa.

Tier 1 Direct · 22 countries

3 steps, passport only.

Mexico, Vietnam, South Africa, Taiwan, Maldives, Hong Kong (BN(O)), Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and 14 others. No qualifying foreign visa required.

Behind the scenes

What happens after you click submit.

Five internal stages. Most of them you never see. You just receive a status email when each one completes.

1

T + 0 min

Form intake and auto-validation

Your data hits our system. Automated checks run instantly: passport number format, name spelling against MRZ, qualifying-visa validity dates (Tier 2), required fields. If something fails, our team is alerted before submission.

2

T + 15 min to 4 hr

Human review by our visa specialist

A real person on our team looks at your application. They cross-check the passport photo against the form data, verify the qualifying visa is genuine and within date for Tier 2 applicants, and flag any details that could trigger refusal.

3

T + 4 hr typical

Submission to the Turkish eVisa system

Your application is transmitted to the official Turkish e-Visa portal at evisa.gov.tr. You receive a confirmation email with your reference number. This is the point of no return for cancellation refunds.

4

T + 4 to 24 hr

Government processing

The Turkish immigration authorities review and decide. We have no influence on this step. 98 percent of applications are approved at this stage. Some are flagged for additional verification, which can take 24 to 72 hours longer.

5

T + approval

Delivery to your inbox

The moment the Turkish system approves, we generate the PDF and email it to you. Most travelers receive the approved eVisa within 24 business hours on Express. Save the PDF to your phone, print a backup, you are cleared to board.

Refusal prevention

What we catch before your application is submitted.

Most refusals are preventable. Our review step exists to find issues before the Turkish government sees them. The 7 most common ones we flag, with the nationality groups they affect most.

Refusal risk

Schengen, US, UK, or Ireland visa about to expire

The qualifying visa must be valid on the day of entry to Turkey, not just the day of application. If your Schengen expires before your trip, the eVisa will be issued but you will be turned away at the border.

Affects: Tier 2 applicants from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Egypt.

Refusal risk

Passport with less than 6 months remaining validity

Turkey enforces the 6-month rule from your entry date, not application date. Renew your passport first if you are close to the threshold. Applications submitted on expiring passports get refused with no refund of the government fee.

Affects: All applicants. Most common with Tier 1 Direct first-time travelers.

Refusal risk

Name spelling mismatch

The name on your eVisa must exactly match your passport. We compare the MRZ-read name to the form-entered name letter by letter. Any mismatch triggers a manual review before submission.

Affects: Common with Indian, Pakistani, Egyptian, and Arabic-script passport holders where transliteration varies.

Refusal risk

Wrong passport number

A typo in the passport number means the approved eVisa is not linked to your actual passport. Border officers see "no eVisa on file" when they scan your real passport.

Affects: Anyone who manually types the number. We auto-extract from the bio page to eliminate this.

Refusal risk

Missing 2 blank passport pages

Turkey requires 2 fully blank pages for the entry stamp. If your passport is full or has only 1 blank page, you may be denied boarding at your origin airport.

Affects: Frequent travelers, particularly from Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Philippines diaspora.

Refusal risk

Minor traveler without guardian setup

Every traveler needs their own eVisa, including infants. A minor applying on a Tier 2 conditional path needs the qualifying visa under their own name or as a dependent on the parent's qualifying visa.

Affects: Family applications across all nationalities.

Refusal risk

Egyptian applicant on a non-approved airline

Egyptian passport holders applying for the Turkey eVisa must hold a round-trip ticket on Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, AJet, Air Cairo, or Egypt Air. Other carriers will not satisfy the airline restriction.

Affects: Egyptian Tier 2 applicants, no other nationality has this rule.

Three speeds, one eVisa

Pick by how soon you fly.

Every speed delivers the same official Turkey eVisa. Pricing is the same across all eligible nationalities. Pay extra only if you are short on time.

At the Turkish border

What to expect at Istanbul Airport.

Two scenarios, depending on your passport. e-Gate for premium nationalities, staffed counter for Tier 2 Conditional.

Tier 1 Direct premium passports

  • Use the e-Gates at Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen (SAW)
  • Scan your passport, e-Gate pulls up your eVisa automatically
  • Standard process: 30 to 60 seconds at the gate
  • Officers may still pull you for a routine question, especially on your first visit
  • Applies to Maldives, Hong Kong BN(O), Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Taiwan, and other premium nationalities

Tier 2 Conditional and other Tier 1

  • Use the staffed counter, not the e-Gate
  • Have your eVisa PDF printed and your supporting Schengen/US/UK/Ireland visa ready (Tier 2)
  • Officer verifies both the eVisa and the qualifying visa
  • Standard secondary questions: purpose of trip, where staying, return flight
  • Standard process: 2 to 5 minutes
  • Applies to Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Filipino, Sri Lankan, Nepali, Egyptian, Mexican, Vietnamese applicants and others

Land border crossings (Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria) work the same way. Always carry a printed copy of your eVisa for land entries, as electronic verification is less consistent than at airports.
